How Campser verifies camp listings

Camp information goes stale fast. A listing is only useful to a parent if someone checked it against the provider recently and said so. This page describes exactly what Campser checks, what each status means, and what we refuse to publish.

What is published today

  • 1,399 camp sessions from 243 providers are live on Campser.
  • 1,353 carry session-level detail confirmed against the provider's own site; 46 are confirmed at the provider level only.
  • The most recent verification pass ran on July 14, 2026.
  • Every published listing stores the source URL it was verified from and the date it was checked.

What each status means

2026 details verified

A person opened the provider's current camp page and confirmed the specifics we publish — dates, ages or grades, price, and location. This is the strongest status and covers most of the inventory.

2026 overview verified

The provider's 2026 program is confirmed to exist and run, but session-level dates or pricing live behind a registration flow we could not read from the public site. Treat the specifics as indicative and confirm them at registration.

Needs a 2026 update

Imported research whose dates or pricing predate the current season, or where the provider has not published current-year details yet. These are held out of the public site until someone re-checks them.

Likely discontinued or ambiguous

The provider's page is gone, unreachable, or no longer mentions the camp; or the evidence is genuinely unclear. These are never published — a listing that sends a parent to a dead program is worse than no listing.

How a listing gets verified

  • Start from the provider's official site, not an aggregator or a cached copy.
  • Read the current camp or registration page and record dates, ages or grades, price, gender eligibility, and the drop-off location as the provider states them.
  • Save the exact source URL and the date of the check alongside the listing.
  • Keep the provider's own wording in the evidence notes so a parent can see what the claim rests on rather than taking our summary on faith.
  • Re-check ahead of each season, and re-check sooner when a provider changes its published calendar.

What Campser will not do

  • Publish star ratings or review scores. Campser has no first-party review data yet, and inventing an aggregate rating would be worse than showing none.
  • Present a price as current when the provider has not published one. Listings without a published price say so instead of guessing.
  • Republish a 2024-era session as if it were on sale today. Stale rows stay out of the public site until they are re-verified.
  • Accept payment for a better verification status or a higher position in results.

Corrections

Verification is a snapshot, and providers change their plans after we check. If a listing is wrong or out of date, providers can request a correction through the provider page, and we re-check against the official source before changing anything.

Parents should always confirm final dates, price, and availability with the provider before booking — every program page carries the source link for exactly that reason.
